2019 Elite Island Resorts Sales Guide

Antigua

Antigua, an island located in the West Indies, is known for superlative boating, exemplary food, family-friendly activities, and legendary cocktails. Encompassing 108 square miles of beautiful coastline, Antigua is one of the top Caribbean vacation destinations, offering 365 white sand beaches, and a wide array of entertainment. There is always something exciting happening on Antigua. Sport is a major part of Antiguan life For those looking to purely indulge in some R&R, Antiguan's joke that their brand of relaxation can be truly addictive.

Barbados

Vacationers, fashion photographers, and jet-setters alike are repeatedly drawn to the allure of Barbados and its rainbow of colours. While the general theme of the island is barefoot and relaxed, a level of sophistication and history remains for those who enjoy a touch of glamour. Bustling cities meet sunset beaches here, offering the best of both worlds. From the island’s pink cottages to its blue lagoons and scented coconut groves, Barbados is a paradise for the senses.

Surfing, horse racing and the national sport of cricket dominant the game scene, while the area’s extraordinary golf courses make for a fantastic leisure activity. Music is a large part of Barbados’s culture, so plan to unwind to the sounds of live, homegrown Calypso and Soca tunes. Prepare to sip a bevy of rum punches, as Barbados is home to one of the oldest distilleries in the world – Mount Gay Rum. Infused with local seasonings like basil and mandarin, an array of flavours awaits every taste bud.

Saint Lucia

St. Lucia hosts some of the most breathtaking and diverse scenery in all of the Caribbean. Gorgeous palm-fringed beaches, miles of unspoiled rainforest, a volcano with boiling sulphur springs, and natural waterfalls serve as a backdrop for some of the friendliest people in the world. Nestled between The Atlantic Ocean and the calm Caribbean Sea, St. Lucia’s majestic Piton Mountains meet the sea at every point. The volcanic island is more mountainous than many other Caribbean islands, with the highest point being Mount Gimie, at 950 metres (3,120 feet) above sea level.

Due to its topography, St. Lucia hosts a multitude of outdoor adventures such as hiking, zip lining, safari tours, rain forest treks, and open-air gondola rides. The island is perfect for individual exploration as well; be it on bike, foot, or scooter. St. Lucia is also known for some of the best diving in the world

The Grenadines

The Grenadines is a beautiful chain of Caribbean islands (one of which is our resort and private island, Palm Island). The collective feel on these islands is a sense of being untouched by time – each one is authentic, original, and unique. Fresh fish and sailing (the island of Winward is known for generations of boat builders) are island essentials, while history such as Scottish descendants and the second home of Princess Margaret (on Mustique) lend a strong cultural heritage to the area.

Tortola

Tortola is part of the British Virgin Islands, or BVIs, and is host to the country’s capital of Road Town. Tortola is known for its breathtaking national parks, historic sites, spectacular bike trails and some of the best underwater sightseeing in the Caribbean. The aquatic life around Tortola is so admired that the sport of “snuba” – a hybrid of snorkelling and scuba has become a national hobby. A must-visit in Tortola is Cane Garden Bay, consistently named one of the top ten beaches in the Caribbean, and home to a handful of world-famous bars, restaurants, and clubs, all playing lively local music.

The flamingo-pink Rhymer’s Beach Bar has not lost an ounce of excitement in its 30 years (and the conch fritters are as delicious as ever), while Stanley’s restaurant is home to the original Cheeseburger in Paradise. The British Virgin Island Regatta & Sailing Event, held in Tortola in March and April, is as exciting as it is competition. The sailing race is one of the largest regattas in the Caribbean, while the accompanying parties offer live music, local and international food, and delicious drinks to enjoy alongside the turquoise waters.

ROOMS:

Premium Beachfront Suites: The first thing you’ll notice about your Premium Beachfront Suite is the fabulous beachfront location. Then you’ll quickly realise that our suite accommodations offer all the comforts and amenities you’d expect of an award-winning resort. These suites have a luxurious feel, with gleaming granite, tropical photographs and dark acacia wood furnishings that are both understated and refined. Step down into the sunken living room and open the sliding, floor-to-ceiling doors, then perch on a stylish sofa to enjoy the sea breeze and stellar views. You’ll also notice the opulent feel of 400-thread-count sheets and the cozy throws that grace our new king beds. For those of you who can’t bear to part with your Blackberry and 24/7 access to the rest of the world, we’ve installed wireless Internet access as well as 32-inch, flat-screen, wall-mounted TVs, iPod alarm clocks and DVD players. You can opt for naturally air-cooled bliss with ceiling fans and sea breezes, or set the individually controlled air conditioning - it’s up to you. The graciously appointed, spacious bathrooms are equipped with his-and-hers showers, a deep, corner-installed soaking tub for two, double sinks, a magnifying mirror for makeup and shaving, fluffy white towels and luxurious Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Step outside onto your balcony or patio and you’ll find a pair of comfy, all-weather rattan chaises to settle into, as well as a beach shower.

Gauguin Suites: Situated on the edge of a bird sanctuary lagoon, starting just 50 yards from the beach, each romantic cottage consists of two thatched rondovals with large air conditioned sitting area - one rondoval is for sleeping - the other a bath/dressing room (shower only). The Cottages have cool white tile flooring with stone accents. The plunge pools are either rectangular or freeform in shape, each one concealed from its neighbour by a combination of the lush tropical vegetation and screens made from natural wood branches. Flanked by paved sun decks with outdoors shower that measure either 7 ft. by 9 ft. or 7 ft. by 13 ft. and are either step-up or level to the ground.

Gauguin Cottages: Our Gauguin cottages reflect the artist’s lifestyle in Tahiti, with privacy that represents a departure from many of the constraints of civilisation, along with the comfort you’d expect of a stay at Galley Bay. Settle in close to our peaceful lagoon, a sanctuary for beautiful native birds and wildlife, and enjoy the solitude amid the deep greenery that surrounds the cottages. As you approach, you’ll see the peaked, thatched roofs poking above the foliage and a few hints of the thick, round walls of each unit - twin “rondoval” cottages joined by a sheltered breezeway. They’re especially popular with newlyweds who wish to unplug from the world for awhile. In the bedroom, cool, whitewashed walls, woven bamboo ceilings, louvered windows and terra-cotta tile create a rustic, Tahitian ambiance, with bold splashes of bright color that echo Gauguin’s absorbing natural palette, and the deep cool provided by individually controlled air conditioning units. Across the breezeway is a bath equipped with a shower and dressing area. Enjoy the refreshing sensation of a beach shower to complete the feeling of being immersed in nature. You can brew your morning coffee in your room, then step outside and relax on your concealed patio, with its adjoining private plunge pool, the perfect spot for a romantic dip.

Superior Beachfront Rooms: These traditional single level rooms are located directly on the beach and feature vaulted ceilings, private terraces and ensuite bathrooms with showers only. A few seconds is all it takes to get ‘‘from’’ bed to sea, whilst rattan furnishings, louvered windows and colourful local art create a mood that is quintessentially Caribbean.

Deluxe Beachfront Rooms: Located in one or two-story buildings on the beach, these more spacious rooms feature walk-in closets, bathrooms with showers and large beach patios with beach showers. Guests can walk straight out onto the sand from the lower level rooms, whilst upper floor rooms boast spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea.
